Every day dangerous goods from air freshener to explosives are moved on UK roads by drivers. The majority of these hazardous loads are carried by fully licensed ADR qualified drivers but a wide range of products you wouldn’t identify as dangerous goods are still carried by your everyday truck drivers.

Even Limited Quantities of dangerous goods require special handling, route planning and other considerations.

The Dangerous Goods Awareness course is designed to give these drivers the basic skills and knowledge required to move these LQ loads safely. Whats more, it satisfies the requirement under ADR Regulation 1.3 that personnel should receive ‘general awareness training’.

With that in mind, this course is not only of use to drivers, but to warehouse, planning and support staff that interact with or plan the movement of dangerous goods either in-scope of the regulation or under the Limited Quantities rules.

COURSES AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

After 10 years in the haulage industry, rising to running my own small fleet of vehicles, I left the cab behind to focus on training the next generation of drivers. I now run RPS Driven Media, give driving lessons as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and relate my experience of road haulage in Driver CPC courses throughout the year.
