As drivers of the largest vehicles on our roads, professional operators with challenges and responsibilities that other road users don’t face, it is up to us to ensure that all steps are taken to ensure the safety of those around us. It’s especially vital that we work to ensure the safety of Vulnerable Road Users, (VRUs) who share our space.
Whilst VRU training should be a priority for any operator, it is a key component of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme. FORS accredited operators have to provide VRU training to their drivers as a requirement of maintaining their accreditation.
