Safe and Legal LGV Driver & Manual Handling

This 7 hour Driver CPC Periodic Training course mixes the rules for safe driving and compliance with best practice for manual handling. Formed of two 3.5 hour modules, the course is designed to minimise risk of lost time due to injury or accident.

The morning is spent discussing driver behaviour, delivery points, route planning and where to stop. We also look at security and documentation to ensure you, your vehicle and your load arrive safely and compliantly.

After lunch we look at manual handling. Muscular Skeletal injuries are a major cause of lost time in the workplace and we all have a duty to do all we can to reduce these painful events from occurring. This course covers the basics of manual handling, information on the spine and the costs and impacts of manual handling accidents and injuries. We also look into the regulations that cover manual handling along with assessing the risk, best practice and the use of MHE.

12:45 – Course Resumes

14:45 – Comfort Break 2 – 15 minutes

16:30 – Course end.

Timings are approximate. Delegates are required to be on time for the course. Arrivals more than 10 minutes late will not be permitted to participate and will be recorded as a no show. No refund will be given. JAUPT and DVSA require that 7 hours of course delivery take place. Delegates will not be permitted to leave early and receive Driver CPC upload credits.
