Load Safety & Road Traffic Collisions
This 7 hour Driver CPC Periodic Training course covers best practices for securing loads on commercial vehicles with the procedures and responsibilities at the scene of a collision. Formed of two 3.5 hour modules, the course is designed to minimise risk of lost time due to injury or accident.
The morning is spent discussing different forms of load security from ratchet straps to bars, twist locks to roping and sheeting. We discuss load weights and how to ensure vehicle stability on the road.
After lunch we look to inform the driver of their legal and moral obligations at the scene of a Road Traffic Collision. We look at how to safely control an accident scene, how to triage and give basic care to the injured and also what information should be given and to whom.
